TREIA‘s Texas Energy Independence Week provides a renewable energy presence in the Texas Capitol Building from Monday, February 21 through Wednesday, February 23. The week is built on the spirit of Texas Independence Day, March 2 (this being the week preceding that date). On that day in 1836, Texas declared its independence from Mexico. The Energy Independence Week naming by TREIA has been a tradition since the early 1990s.
TREIA members, Legislators, Legislative Aides, other public officials and staff, and the general public are invited to attend various activities taking place in the Capitol. Other activities not held at the Capitol are for members and others by invitation. Below is a Schedule of Events for quick reference.
