News release –

Solar Panels Plus, a leading U.S. manufacturer of solar thermal, hot water and space heating products, has received OG-300 certification from the Solar Rating & Certification Corp. for 14 of its solar hot-water systems.

These systems, which feature the company’s Buy American Act-compliant evacuated tube collector assembled in Ohio, contain all the major components of a solar hot-water system, including a solar storage tank, controls, pump and the company’s flagship product, the SPP-30A collector.

SPP’s OG-300 certified systems are designed to work in a variety of applications, including existing single- and dual-tank systems as well as new construction. The OG-300 certification allows customers to qualify for additional state, local and utility financial incentives such as rebates, grants and tax credits. This certification also ensures that customers are purchasing a safe, durable, long-lasting and high-performing system that meets the SRCC’s strict requirements.

“These systems complement the more than 30 flat plate OG-300 systems already offered by SPP,” says Jeff Kirshbaum, sales director at SPP. “We now have an OG-300 certified system to meet any residential DHW requirement a dealer may come across.”

The SRCC is a third-party organization that certifies and rates the performance of solar energy equipment. The OG-300 rating and certification program for solar hot-water systems integrates the results of collector tests with a performance model for the entire system and determines whether systems meet minimum standards for durability, reliability, safety and operation.
